Second-Half Turnaround Sees Ropes Beaten by Thamesmead
Bridon Ropes 2–5 Sporting Club Thamesmead
P&Co SCEFL First Division
Monday 14 September 2026 – 7:45pm
Bridon Ropes FC, Charlton Park Lane
Attendance: 102
Bridon Ropes surrendered a two-goal advantage as Sporting Club Thamesmead produced a second-half turnaround to take all three points in Charlton.
The contest remained goalless through the opening half-hour before Maxim Taflaj broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute.
Yedidja Kossi doubled our advantage eight minutes later, putting us firmly in control at 2–0. However, Thamesmead responded almost immediately through Owen Jeavons, whose 43rd-minute goal reduced the deficit before half-time.
The visitors drew level in the 64th minute when Jeavons scored his second of the evening. Just three minutes later, Jamie Williams struck to complete a rapid turnaround and put Thamesmead 3–2 ahead.
The score remained unchanged until deep into added time, but a difficult closing period saw Riley Butler add a fourth in the 95th minute. Hassan Omar was then shown a red card before Andrea Carrera completed the scoring four minutes later.
Having established a two-goal lead, the final outcome was a frustrating one for the Ropes. A series of costly individual errors were punished heavily by the visitors, leaving us without reward from an encouraging first-half display.
