Late Equaliser Denies Ropes Victory at Greenways

Bridon Ropes produced a resilient performance to earn a well-deserved point in an entertaining 3–3 draw away to Greenways — although the Ropes will feel their display merited more.
Greenways opened the scoring through Max Cutler in the 17th minute, but Bridon responded positively and continued to compete throughout the first half.
The equaliser arrived in first-half stoppage time through a spectacular Ivan Coromah strike. Collecting the ball more than 30 yards from goal and at an acute angle, Coromah produced an outstanding finish to send the teams into the interval level at 1–1.
Bridon began the second half brightly and moved ahead in the 61st minute. Abdulai Turay beat the Greenways full-back out wide, cut into the penalty area and unleashed a ferocious drive into the corner to make it 2–1 to the Ropes.
The hosts equalised through substitute Josh Jackson in the 81st minute, but Bridon responded again. Five minutes later, Turay struck his second goal of the afternoon to restore the visitors’ advantage at 3–2.
The Ropes appeared on course for all three points before a controversial conclusion. Coromah was caught by a late challenge near the edge of the Bridon penalty area, but the ball ran out of play and Greenways were awarded a throw-in.
The hosts capitalised from the resulting throw, with Jackson scoring his second goal in the 90th minute to make it 3–3.
It was a frustrating end to an excellent away performance, but Bridon leave Rochester with their first point of the new league campaign and plenty of encouragement from a display full of resilience, attacking quality and determination.
