Greenways FC 0–1 Bridon Ropes FC
Tuesday 14th April 2026
7.45pm KO
Rochester United Sports Ground
Bridon Ropes produced a disciplined and resolute away performance to secure a deserved 0–1 victory over Greenways, bringing an end to the hosts’ six game unbeaten run.
From the outset, Bridon were organised and committed, delivering a solid defensive display that frustrated Greenways throughout. The back line held firm under pressure, limiting the hosts to very few clear opportunities and showing real resilience in key moments.
The decisive goal came in the first half through Leo Onye, who made it back to back goals in successive matches. Picking the ball up in a wide area, Onye beat his marker before driving a ferocious effort from a tight angle beyond the keeper to give Bridon the lead.
Greenways responded after the break and were handed a golden opportunity to equalise from the penalty spot. However, on his debut, goalkeeper Sonny Owen produced a huge moment, saving the penalty to preserve Bridon’s advantage and ultimately secure all three points.
It was a performance built on discipline, work rate and defensive strength, with the Ropes seeing the game out professionally to claim a vital away win.
The result marks three league wins in a row for the first time this season, underlining the strong form and momentum building within the squad at a crucial stage of the campaign.
Next up is the final home game of the season as Bridon host Staplehurst Monarchs FC this Saturday 18th April, 3pm KO at Meridian Sports Club.
