Bridon Ropes FC 2–2 Staplehurst Monarchs FC
Saturday 18th April 2026 | 3:00pm KO
Meridian Sports and Social Club, Charlton Park Lane
Bridon Ropes FC signed off their home campaign with an entertaining 2–2 draw against Staplehurst Monarchs in front of a lively crowd at Meridian.
The Ropes made a fast and assertive start, immediately taking control of the game and putting Staplehurst under sustained pressure. That early dominance paid off on 12 minutes, as Yedidja Kossi opened the scoring with a composed finish to give Bridon a deserved lead.
Kossi doubled both his tally and Bridon’s advantage on 24 minutes to make it 2–0. The forward continues to shine in front of goal, now making it five goals from five starts this season.
Staplehurst were handed a route back into the game through a somewhat speculative penalty decision. A shot struck a Bridon defender’s thigh before ricocheting onto his arm, with the referee pointing to the spot. The visitors converted on 38 minutes to reduce the deficit to 2–1 heading into the break.
The second half proved a more even contest, and Staplehurst capitalised on a defensive lapse early after the restart, finishing confidently on 50 minutes to bring the scores level at 2–2.
To their credit, Bridon responded strongly and looked the more likely to find a winner. The best chance fell to Jordan Samuel, whose delicate chip over the advancing keeper bounced inches wide with the goal at his mercy.
Despite pushing late on, the Ropes were unable to find a decisive third, but the point ensures a strong finish at home. The result means Bridon are now unbeaten in their last four matches, collecting ten points from a possible twelve as momentum continues to build.
A special mention goes to our home supporters, with fantastic backing from our youth teams and local schools. Their energy and noise created a brilliant atmosphere and gave the final home game of the season a fitting send-off.
Bridon now turn their attention to their final two fixtures of the campaign, travelling to Chessington & Hook FC on Monday 20th April 2026 (7:45pm KO), before concluding the season away at Banstead FC on Saturday 25th April (3:00pm KO).
