Bridon Ropes were beaten by league leaders SE Dons at Meridian Sports & Social Club on Saturday afternoon, in front of a season record attendance of 206.
The visitors made a strong start and went ahead inside the opening ten minutes when Reece Barrett opened the scoring. Bridon found themselves under sustained pressure, and the lead was doubled on the half-hour mark through Walter Figueira.
SE Dons added a third deep into first half stoppage time, with Barrett grabbing his second of the afternoon to give the visitors a commanding advantage at the break.
Half Time: Bridon Ropes FC 0–3 SE Dons
The visitors extended their lead shortly after the restart through Michael Kamara, before Femi Akinwande added a fifth before the hour mark to complete the scoring.
Up against one of the division’s strongest sides, Bridon were unable to gain a foothold in the game and were ultimately punished by a clinical attacking performance.
Despite the result, the support on the day was a major positive, with a season high crowd of 206 in attendance, reflecting the continued growth around the club.
Attention now turns quickly to the next fixture, with an immediate opportunity to respond as Bridon host Sporting Club Thamesmead in their second home game in 48 hours on Easter Monday, 3pm kick off at Meridian Sports & Social Club.
