Bridon Ropes were narrowly beaten 2–1 by play off chasing Lordswood in a competitive encounter at Meridian.

The visitors arrived pushing for a top five finish and showed their quality in key moments but this was a game that remained evenly balanced throughout.

First Half
It was a tight opening with both sides looking to gain control. Bridon matched Lordswood well and created a number of promising situations without managing to convert.

Lordswood took the lead before the break to go in 0–1 at half time capitalising on one of the few clear chances of the half.

Second Half
The visitors extended their lead early in the second half leaving Bridon with work to do.

To their credit the Ropes responded well and began to apply pressure as the game progressed. The breakthrough came late on when Leo Onye found the net to pull one back and set up a tense finish.

Despite the late push Bridon were unable to find an equaliser and Lordswood held on for a 2–1 victory.

Summary
A competitive performance with plenty of positives but ultimately decided by key moments. Bridon showed good character particularly in the closing stages and will look to carry that into the remaining fixtures.
