Sheppey Sports 3–1 Bridon Ropes FC
Saturday 7 February 2026, 3pm kick off
Holm Park, Sheerness
The Ropes made the trip away knowing the challenge ahead, but found ourselves in a difficult position at half time as Sheppey Sports led 3–0. Despite a slow start, we did create chances in the opening period, however a combination of excellent goalkeeping from the hosts and poor finishing meant we went into the break with a mountain to climb.
After the interval, we regrouped and produced a much improved second half performance. Momentum swung our way as we pinned Sheppey into their own half and began to dictate the tempo of the game.
Our pressure was rewarded on 70 minutes when Shegs Akinwunmi found the net to pull one back and make it 3–1, bringing renewed belief and energy into our play.
In his return from an ankle injury, Manny Oshinowo made a real impact, showing quality and composure as he began to pull the strings. He came agonisingly close to scoring with a superb chest and volley that crashed back off the crossbar during a dominant spell for the Ropes.
Substitute Ike Osigwe added pace and a direct threat to our attacking play. He turned sharply to create space and saw a powerful strike come back off the post as we continued to push for further goals.
With five defenders missing through injury, the squad was stretched, but the young players who stepped in showed a bright future ahead. The overall team performance, particularly in the second half, deserved more, but a mix of outstanding goalkeeping and strikes against the woodwork meant we left empty handed.
